A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit about certain Microsoft software acquired by consumers and businesses between February 18, 1995 and December 15, 2001 for use in California. People and businesses that are covered by the settlement can get vouchers that may be redeemed for cash after buying eligible computer products.

Basically if you bought Microsoft Windows, Office, Excel, Word, Works, Home Essentials, even if it was preinstalled on the computer you can file a claim. That’s about everyone who has bought a Windows system from 1995 – 2001.

HOT!!! If you had ordered your Toshiba e310 during Amazon.com‘s promotion where they were giving out a $25 gift certificate after your purchase, you may be able to get another $50 gift certificate.  On their website they had advertised a $50 gift certificate instead of a $25 gift certificate.  If you had already received a $25 gift certificate for you purchase, and you had made the purchase before Aug 14, then email [email protected] saying that you had thought that it was a $50 gift certificate.  I did the same thing and they told me that they would send me a $50 gift certificate PLUS they told me to keep the $25 gift certificate because it was their error.  Great job Amazon.com for having such high customer service.

If you’re running Windows XP, there is a Service Pack 1 released which will patch many of the security holes in XP.  I recommend everyone to get this patch.  Make sure you own a legal copy or else the Service Pack will not install.  If you don’t have XP yet, you can get it here for $39.99.

Some of our visitors might have noticed the “Gold Box“on the top right corner of Amazon.com’s site, but don’t really know what it’s for.  The Gold Box features serveral items each day which are reduced more than the usual just for you.  You have 60 minutes to decide to buy or pass on the item.  Check those Gold Boxes everyday because I have bought a few items that were featured in the Gold Box that had very good discounts.  You must however have an existing account with Amazon.com.  The items that are featured are based on your past browsing and shopping habits.

As many of my visitors may know, I am a Kings fan. After watching this Kings Vs. Lakers series, I am deeply disturbed by the bad calls by the Refs. I don’t mind if the Kings had lost to the better team, but this Kings and Lakers series just doesn’t seem right, the REFS tarnished the game.
