This pan is much thinner than I expected. The glass cover has no top knob, so it is difficult to remove without getting a steam burn. Cover can't be used while using the no boil over lid, so much steam and heat is lost. This is just a poorly designed and poor quality pan.

I use this pan a lot, as I am cursed with a love of pasta. It is a wonderful size and a handy concept, with the self-draining top. I've used the glass lid to hold or serve the pasta in addition to as a cover when bringing the water to boil.

The flaws are those of a cheaper quality pan. The coating is scratching off around the top, where the "no-boil-over" lid locks in, and I have not found this feature that effective. It does keep the water hotter, however, being partially covered. When using it to drain, the holes are too big and the pasta slides out.

The glass lid gets very hot, and I have burned my fingers on it a number of times. Hopefully my Pavlovian instinct has finally kicked in.

In spite of all this, it's a handy pan if you learn to compensate for the flaws.
