Product description

Ribbed cooking surface drains away excess fat

Amazon.com

By squaring this skillet and flaring its sides, famed French cookware manufacturer Le Creuset offers extra cooking room for steaks, fish, burgers, or any food that benefits from stovetop grilling and the caramelized flavor imparted by seared grill marks. The ribs in the grill's bottom not only provide those marks but also elevate foods so that fat collects between them for low-calorie cooking. Because cast iron is unmatched for heat retention and even distribution--no hot spots--foods will cook uniformly in the 8-inch-square grill. Enameled outside with a bright, smooth surface and inside with a black satin-texture finish, this is a heavy, durable grill that works on any stovetop, in the oven, or under a broiler. It's also stylish enough (think French farmhouse kitchen) to bring to the table. Though it's dishwasher-safe, hand washing preserves a patina that builds up with use and aids in the grill's stick resistance. --Fred Brack

I just got this little grilling skillet and I love it. The secret to using it is to heat it really hot on medium heat before adding the food. I oil both sides of whatever I'm grilling but not the skillet. Once the pan is hot, I add the items I'm grilling. They will grill smoke free and even if they stick initially, the food will unstick as it cooks. A hamburger with cheese on top (added at the end of the cooking) certainly made a mess of the grilling ridges but once the skillet cooled, I added water and soaked it awhile. The skillet virtually rinsed clean later. I do have a bristle brush to scrub away any stubborn spots though. How did I live without this little skillet and the regular 11" skillet I bought earlier? Both are such great products!!

Now Le Creuset, if you'd come out with a 9" skillet without a non-stick surface, I'll buy that too!

I was very psyched to get a grill pan - especially a nice le creuset! However, my excitement has been tempered some. I have two complaints. One: it's not very non-stick. The performance is no better than ordinary cast-iron - probably worse than a well-seasoned cast-iron grill pan. The second complaint is that the ribs are two far apart and too deep. My mistake: I thought this was a good feature, but I have learned my lesson.

It's a good pan - don't get me wrong. I made a very nice panini in it today (ementhaler and prosciutto on Italian bread), and the chicken/chipotle sausage I used it for last night had nice grill marks, but I think that it's not really worth the extra cost to have nice enamel on the outside - unless you are looking for a decorative piece.

I purchased this grill pan as a birthday present to myself. Seriously the best present ever. I cook with my grill almost everyday. Fruits, chicken, hotdogs, even breads. I highly recommend all Le Creuset products. Huge fan!

I am a huge food network fan and all the cooks use grill pans... so silly me wanted to get one. I actually purchased this for my mom and it looks awesome. However, we dont use it every often bc everything sticks to it and it is even harder to clean. I think it has to do with the actual grill ridge shape. If it had rounder humps and a little wider spacing cleaning wouldnt be such a pain. I have grilled veggies, fish, and steak on it all with the same results. I was very sad. I have tried different temperatures and oils to prevent sticking... no luck. I think I might try to buy a grill pan similar to what Rachel Ray uses, if you have seen her show. I dont have a gas stove so finding something that works is hard.

die Pfanne habe ich gebraucht wie neu gekauft und sie war wirklich wie neu. Die Pfanne gibt wie bei Le Creuset üblich eine tolles Bratergebnis. Ich bin rundum zufrieden
