The Pod also contains an auxiliary line-in (mini-phone 3.5mm), a headphone jack, a power switch, and volume/bass controls. The included satellite speaker stands are removable to allow for easy wall mounting.

I thought it was good when it worked but then one day it stopped and never worked again. I try to call the Creative people but they were not help. So unless you just need it for a year don't buy it.

I am assuming that most of the people who gave this item a 5 star rating are either first time buyers or are completely deaf. I bought these to replace my old Microlab speakers which i got for less than half the price but were twice as good. the sound is ok but there are a few annonying problems that i did not expect from a product of this price range. first off, the bass is way to strong coming from the subwoofer and the midrange. second, there is no way of controlling the treble which is a big dissapointment cos if creative had included a treble adjustment knob i could have at least balanced out the sound quality a little bit and i probably would have given these a 3.5 instead of a 2

First things first: I rate things in the absolute. Giving these more than 3 stars is difficult for me. But, if I could, I'd give them 3.5 stars. No way would I give them 5.
Lets start with the problems (they are not many). The subwoofer is way too loud. WAY TOO LOUD. I do not know who decides on this matter at Creative but they went way too far. The second one as to do with the little pod (which has its positive sides, I'll come back to that later on). Since the sub is so loud, it would have been interesting to be able to control it in a much more subtle way. My dial rarely, if ever, is in more than 5% position. Last thing: people should think of these for what they are. Very cheap replacements to the small desktop speakers we normally get with cheap computers. They have nothing to do with high fidelity (I don't understand how people give them 5 stars). They are very week on the low mid-range.
As I was writing earlier, they do have their fare number of qualities to. For this price, the sound is very good. Way much better than what people normally get with low-end computers or for every 2.0 speaker sets that I've heard. When you get to control the bass level, they can get quite pleasant and even more at a relatively high volume. On the plus side is the fact that the pod is at the end of a cable so you can control the bass level directly by placing it directly on your desk. The construction seems also rather good. The desktop speakers are heavy (for there size) and everything seems well constructed (a surprise for me at this price). In the end, they do sound great for the price. Do not expect greatness, especially if like in my case you are used to high fidelity speakers on your home system. They are great to listen to music while you are at your desk, and I guess that's what's important. As for value, I guess I could give them a 4.5. The only real problem - up to now - is the bass level. A great improvement for not to much money.

I loved these speakers. They were loud and the bass really boomed. It was because of these speakers that we quit using a separate stereo system all together. Hooked to our computer we had a much larger selection of music to chose from. I would be using these to this day if the volume control didn't quit working. Unfortunately without that piece the whole system is useless. They did last almost seven years though so it was money well spent.

i have had these for a few years now and they have been great. these are perfect for computers or basically anything that has a 3.5mm audio out jack. the bass is great and there is even a seperate control for it on the corded control. on that same control is an analog volume control which is a great add on for the price of these speakers. there is also an 3.5mm headphone jack on the corded control that mutes the speakers if headphones are inserted, saves you the hassel of having to disconnect wires to connect a pair of headphones.

i used these in my dorm room, they are alot simpler to move around than a 5.1 channel setup and have alot less wires. if you have the creative muvo( which is by far one of the best mp3 players ever) you can jack it into the usb jack on the remote which supplies power to the unit but you still have to connect the audio line into it for it to work(no usb reading capability only power). also if you turn up the volume on these speakers they are quite loud, but still clear up to a point, then the bass takes over.

these were a great buy, but over these few years of usage the volume knob on the remote is getting glitchy and is impercise now. the power adapter gets quite warm and its size usually covers up 2 slots on a power strip. they probably make a better pair now for the price i paid.

Creatives are good speaker but when it matches up to Logitech they do not match up. 1st of all Logitech's x-220's have a larger and louder sub than these. The speakers are not made of plastic as someone wrote they are made of pure solid WOOD. the sound of the two brands shouldnt even be compared. Logitechs speakers have much better LOUDER CLEARER sound! Logitech x-220s sub has 20.4 watts while the t 2900 has 17 watts. The bonus about creatives is that you may take the covers off! But i still honestly say if you want a louder sound system go with logitech!! Logitech x-220s have a output power of 64 watts while these T 2900's have a output power of 60 watts! and the style of the x-220s looks sleeker and more desighned. The creatives look all the same like all of the other sound systems. But if style and loudness doesnt bother you than purchase these since the have decent sound and the have a built in tweeter.

I was ecstatic when I first bought my speakers. They were functional, attractive, and the sound was excellent. Two months later my left speaker stopped working. Turns out the speaker itself wasn't broken, the audio output for the left speaker was. I surfed online and found a plethora of other people with the same problem. I'd be careful buying these speakers, they tend to have a chronic audio output problem.
